Europe 2014

London, June 30, 2014.

Arrived in London this morning after very comfortable flight.  Checked in at hotel (Royal Horseguards, right on the river in Whitehall...my current favorite.) and went straight to bed!  But not before admiring the wonderful view from my windows.  The Jubilee Bridges and the London Eye.  Rachel, Nathan and Cass....and Jane, Feisel and Safi met me downstairs.  It was Safi's 4th birthday yesterday...by sheer luck I had brought her "Harold and the Purple Crayon".  Anyone remember that?  Jonathan doesn't seem to, but we have it!  It is 50 years old now!  Anyway, we trotted over the Hungerford Golden Jubilee  Bridge ( see photo) to  Battersea to the Canteen Restaurant.....great food and child-friendly.  Unfortunately Safi was tired and over-excited from her birthday party and Feisel ended up taking her home as soon as dinner ended.  She went right to sleep!  The rest of us took the London Eye, which I did with Jill and Alison in 2008.  It is such fun...you see all of London spread out before you.  We trotted back over the bridge to the hotel, sent the boys home (though Cass wanted to stay and listen in.....) and we ladies repaired to the Equus Bar for nightcaps and family gossip!

These three are from my room.
