After leaving Mumbai, we continued on a northwesterly course across the Indian Ocean and into the Gulf of Oman. Our course took us through the Strait of Hormuz and very very close to Iran!
Another lazy day by the pool, reading and schmoozing. At 3:15, we watched the Float Your Boat Race. Teams designed and constructed models ships that not only float but also carry cargo – i. e. 6 cans of beer. Some of the entries were ingenious and nicely decorated with clever names. Sea trial took place in the Jacuzzis. One entry capsized but was given a second chance!!! Then, two by two, the boats raced down the pool with their designers providing without touching.
Tonight was out last formal night as a group. The others plus our new friends Colin and Bea all leave us in Dubai. I ordered a chocolate unbirthday cake and all the waiters sang to us….and we consumed two bottles of Veuve Cliquot!
