April 13-16 Brussels
Spent 4 very nice days here with Estelle. We went twice to a fabulous testaurant – Le Prince d’Orange and I had kidneys!!! Hahahahaha. Love them. The second day we went with her daughter Michele and we saw granddaughter Laurence very briefly. We went to Louvain one morning…I had never been there. Unfortunately, we could not get near the Grande Place (the Flemings would kill me for using French!!) because it was Freidagmarkt, but we could see the beautiful buildings. It is also the home of the oldest university in Europe.
My last full day, we went down to the Petit Sablon, my favorite place in Brussels. We wandered through the shops and then settled in an outdoor café and stayed there for 5 hours!!! We had mid-morning drinks – beer with cherry or raspberry juice; then lunch; then coffees. We sat and soaked up the sun. The weather is amazing. Well into the 70s and blue skies…..even in Brussels.
