Worked on blog in the morning and then went for coffee with Norma and Phyllis. Soon joined by Jan, Ross’ sister and Peter a friend who installs the Christmas lights. Did some shopping and then Ross and I drove up to Mt. Eden, on the ridge of one of the many extinct volcanoes in Auckland, which is spread out over more than 390 square mikes. Wonderful panoramic views of the city, the harbour and the outer islands. Drove around Epsom, an area of beautiful homes. Met Wayne, one of the sausage-grilling ballerinas from yesterday, for coffee. And then the big event of the day – an evening at Caluzzi, a drag-queen venue. We were 7 – Ross, Phyllis, Norma, Jan, Robert and another Jan, visiting her daughter from Coronado and me. What a hoot. We had planned this for months, but the date kept changing because they only do shows when they have a full house. There were 3 other long tables of women. Ross and Robert were the only guys – apart from the drag queens of course. We had a very good meal, with dancing and entertainment between courses – Ross was part of the audience participation at one point. The patter from the comperette was very funny, and, of course, very rude. The show was terrific and the costume fabulous. Two of the queens were gorgeous. But pictures tell the story better – so, here they are.

I've been following the blog. Great job. Terrific pictures. But need one of the Xmas lights. You are certainly living large. Amy and Jennifer arrived home safely (and tired) with many stories to tell. We'll Skype when you get back. Cheers !!
