July 7, 2014. Great Bowden, Leicestershire

Another gorgeous day.  We had our full English breakfast outside, then puttered until we    drove to Medbourne, a pretty village with houses made from ironstone, to have lunch. Della and I had a cream tea instead!  Yummy.  Then we drove around the countryside, actually along the border of Northamptonshire, sometime in, sometimes not.  We stopped at a magnificent country home, owned by a communications magnate and which used to be Phil's school.  Nevil Holt. Beautiful scenery of rolling hills dotted with sheep and blond Welland beef cattle (named for the local river).

My new home in Nevil Holt.  LOL

Home for more long conversations, a delicious lamb dinner with local strawberries for dessert....the sweetest I have had in years.  As then, yes, more long conversations until midnight!
